When a holiday destination has so many ancient neolithic sites like this, is it any wonder I love Malta and Gozo so much? I think not…

  1. Ooh – I love these things! They’re right up my alley, and when I was researching for my series I found so many amazing mysteries – I’m just getting another post together too. Did you see the images of the rail tracks on Malta? Quite amazing how much doubt has been cast on the age of so many megaliths around the world – some of them are so much older than we’ve been told.

    • In Malta and Gozo’s case, the monumental structures have been there for the last seven thousand years Jo, from the days when both islands were part of a landbridge between northern Africa and southern Europe. In one of Malta’s museums – I forget which one – there are skeletons of pygmy Rhino’s and Elephants that lived there as well. 😉
