The Rain Forgotten


The rain has been forgotten by everybody but not by me,

I live in the land of fallen droplet memories that I need.

As soon as the rain was forgotten I remembered a monsoon ago,

When you held my hand & said you cared which I can’t forego.

It is a regular practice of today to cry in the rain,

All the songs sing it & all lovers do it to relish their long-lasting pain.

I have never wanted to dance in the rain but the day you smiled at me,

I drenched myself wet with you in the rain for you to see my glee.

You dear one have forgotten the rain of our love so pure,

I am left therefore forgotten in the rain without a cure.

Tears smeared on my wet face hides in the rain drops of the clouds,

I remain silent but…
