      • I should have added ‘yet’ because I did, of course, go straight to the article yesterday and read it. He makes very valid points. The most telling to me is “Previously, writers would work as taxi drivers, clerks, secretaries and waiters to make a living. Samuel Beckett and many others lived like this. It was hard – but they fed themselves, from a literary perspective.” I also think that’s where Indie writers have the advantage. It’s an argument I’ve often used when it comes to acting. You can’t become another character unless you’ve lived, as well as observed, life. This is why, sometimes, untrained actors, make better actors.
