  1. Maybe a victim of greedy inclinations, both of Hawass and Nat Geo, but I have to admit I’ve enjoyed all of the programming, publications etc that came out of it. It was why we journeyed to Egypt and Jordan in 2009. This also benefited Egypt, since a large part of its GPD comes from tourism. So it was a win-win-win. And Hawass did a yeoman’s job protecting Egyptian artifacts when Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood was in power, The museum and the pyramids would have been looted (the museum was partially looted) or destroyed, just like the huge Bhudda statues in Afghanistan and the museums in Iraq.
