True Friends

In this business, to publish and be read guarantees you will attract many insanely jealous enemies within the writing fraternity, as well as being targeted by total dipsticks (I give you the Amazon troll). But at the same time you will also come across some wonderful people. I am proud to number the following three successful writers as true friends of mine. They are:

Last but by no means least, Derek Haines who is a long time friend and mentor.

Most of you know Derek through his various blog posts which I reblog here from time to time from. He is also a fulltime English teacher in Switzerland.

When it comes to his writing Derek specialises in comedic scifi. Because of his love for the sub-genre, he has often been accused by his bitterest critics of aping the writings of Douglas Adams (The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy). Whether you agree with his highly opinionated critics or not, (I don’t) one of his best books by far is Louis – The Life of a Real Spy…

      • LOL – it is a Master Coach Certification (WELL over 3,000 coaching hours and a **whole bunch** of training to qualify) No cricket in my background, as an American — but no baseball or football either (as a “girl” who came of age before female athletics were encouraged, and certainly not funded).

        I was a coaching pioneer, then founded the ADD/EFD Coaching field: brain-based techniques designed/developed for the neurodiverse that I firmly believe works better for everyone, since it’s science and brain-based (and everybody’s got one, even if they don’t always use it 🙂 ).

        Years ago now, I developed the world’s first “non-vanilla” training and trained a great many of the most experienced ADD Coaches in practice today.

        I am, bit-by-bit putting as much information as translates on my blog, for people who are ready, willing and able to change their lives (in all ways but financial, which is in short supply). Nothing beats having the personal support of an expert, but many who are challenged can’t afford even group coaching – even in a telephone format that keeps costs as low as possible.

        I do what I can with more time than I can really justify, attempting to balance keeping a roof over my head, etc. as well. It’s a challenge, but I believe it is important work.

        Obviously, I am NOT a fan of corporate capitalism. 🙂 Truthfully, I’m worried sick about the next four years in America now that the 1% will be in charge. ::shudder:: ‘Nuff said!
