Jack Eason lived in New Zealand for forty-two years until 2000 when he returned to his birthplace in England. As far as he is concerned he will always consider himself to be a Kiwi. After military service in the 1960’s, he travelled the world, visiting exotic lands and making many friends. Now in his late-sixties he is content to write and travel via the Internet. Besides writing novels and short stories, he contributes to his own blog “Have We Had Help?”  His literary interests include science fiction, history, both ancient and modern, and humorous tales like those written by his fellow writer Derek Haines, such as “HAL”. Now retired, he lives in his home town surrounded by his favourite books, ranging from historical fact to science fiction. His literary icons are J.R.R Tolkien, George Orwell, Arthur C Clarke and John Wyndham.

  1. As a victim of the BBA trolls, I would like to send you an e-mail and keep what I want to ask you off of a public forum where the trolls may then discover what I’m up to. In a war, you don’t let the enemy discover what you are planning.

  4. Jack, your photo above A Word to the Wise is most interesting! The furry face and ominous eyes! Wonder what’s behind all that? It has a definite first impression. I’m in my mid-70s, a retired nurse practitioner in psychiatry and always curious about a person’s “look.” Care to comment or is it too personal and you’ll use your power to veto!       • Happy to get your comment back! Had to chuckle at your wit…on the planet Zark that day so you missed Chris’s award! Well, your photo is big as life right on this page and on every one of your comments. Let me describe you to you. Ominous eyes angled at me under white bushy eyebrows. Eyeglasses perched on the tip of your nose. Bald head gleaming and one shoulder bared. White tuffs of a mustache and a full beard round out your craggy look. Is that you, or a character from the Planet Zark? Hope that put a smile on your craggy face! So, now I’m following not only you, but Sally and Nicholas (who I was already following). If my description of you didn’t make you smile, then visit my World-wide Sunset Gallery (there are 5 of Nicholas’s Greek photos there). It’s a peaceful start, then click on About Me and that page may make you smile! But then maybe not, you’ll have to get off Planet Zark and go back to a happy place in childhood for that to happen!   15. Okay – Liked your ‘about’ page – a man after me own heart on some fronts – – sometimes, if I like a piece but don’t have much to add to the conversation, really, I just like, and move on – –

    But, alas, I landed here after reading the introduction post to your latest book, from bloggy pal beetleypete , and after reading a couple posts here, visited the about page….

    So hoping I can be forgiven for ‘just liking’ a post or so before I got here….

    Okey-Dokey then – my most likely ‘damned annoying’ comment LOL –

    I do reserve the right, if I may, to once in awhile show you support, let ya know “Hey! I read this! Enjoyed it! I have nothing to add just now, at this point in time….” :).

    Why add words to what is succinctly and eloquently already expressed, I ask you? :).

    P.S. Thanks for the affordable option to purchase The Magisters. I read the info at, looked at the cover and yes, the entire scope of things betwixt the two have been heavy on my radar – :). So Thanks!! Hope you wake up to quick warmth soon – (July 29, 2020 post – 🙂

    Here in Colorado, USA – we are (blessedly so!) in the early arrival of August monsoon time, after an early arrival of hot, drought ridden days that made me beg for a bag of ice to dump over my feet or head – :). It’s deliciously cool now, with afternoon/evening storms that bring moisture to my little slice of ‘earth’ and while I don’t like being cold – and have issues with being really cold – overall – guess I’m a Colorado gal – at heart – If it’s hot, give me dry heat – if it’s cold, make it dry cold – I can do either until a certain spot on the thermometer, alas, it’s easier to put layers on than it is to cool oneself affordably when the mercury rises to the red portion – 🙂
